In both genders the fat build-up is on the areas like abdomen, breasts, neck, arms and thighs. Plus, it can accumulate under the skin in other body parts. In this article we shall reveal to you the categories of fat and on what you need to focus while dieting.

The fat cells in the body have the role of storing the energy that the body draws through the consumed food. So if we follow a high calorie diet the number and size of fat cells is higher. Since there are plenty of fat cells the body stores them in our muscles, our liver and other organs as an energy source.

But, an excess of fat cells means that our body has stored energy at an abnormally high rate and when it is needed it releases it at an abnormally slow rate. Plus, they start to produce abnormal amounts of different hormones that can lead to inflammation, slow metabolism and several diseases.

What causes obesity?

Obesity occurs when you take in more calories than the body burns. In such case the body stores it as excess energy in forms of fat deposits. This happens when a person has poor eating habits and lacks a physical activity.
