Heart Allies – Lemon and Garlic
It has been proven that lemon is a great protector of the heart. It is a great source of vitamin C, antioxidants and minerals that stimulate an adequate function of the heart. As per conducted several studies, the intake of fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamin C can protect against heart-related illnesses and strokes. Plus, it contains flavonoids that lower the risks of developing a heart disease, obesity or atherosclerosis. Lemon also contains fibers that stabilize cholesterol blood levels which is very important for good heart health.
Garlic is an amazing natural ingredient that is highly beneficial for the health of the heart. According to the findings of the Australian researchers, garlic is an appropriate treatment against hypertension thanks to its ability to reduce systolic blood pressure. The latter one if not regulated can pose a great cardiovascular risk.
Another study released in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition has revealed that the intake of garlic can lower the build-up of plaque in the arteries and thus protect the body from atherosclerosis.
As mentioned before, there are two efficient home remedies that can protect your heart. Here they are:
Recipe 1 – A Lemon-Garlic Remedy
- 6 lemons
- 30 cloves of garlic
- 8 cups of mineral water
Peel off the lemon and as well as the garlic cloves. Next, cut them into pieces and put them in a blender along with the 8 cups of water. Blend till you obtain smooth texture. Transfer it in a saucepan, put it on heat and boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat; leave it to cool off and put the resulting solution in a container. Keep it in a cool place like the fridge.
Use: Consume 1 tablespoon of this solution for 3 weeks in a row, in the morning on an empty stomach. After the 3-week period, make a break of 1 week, and after that continue for additional 3 weeks. This treatment can be followed only two times a year.
Recipe 2 – A Lemon-Garlic Remedy
- 1 cup of lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons of crushed garlic
- 3 tablespoons of grated ginger
- 1 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 3 cups of organic honey
Take a saucepan and in it pour the lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and the garlic and ginger. Place it on heat till its reaches its boiling point. Turn off the heat, and when it is warm add the honey. Mix everything and transfer the resulting mixture into a glass jar. Keep it in a cool place.
Use: Consume this remedy for 2 weeks consequently, once a day, in the morning on an empty stomach.
Both remedies are not recommended in cases of citrus allergies, ulcers, heartburn, gastric reflux, and gallstones.
Furthermore, people with blood diseases, people who are taking anticoagulant drugs or the ones that have recently undergone a surgical procedure are not allowed to use these remedies. This also applies for pregnant or breastfeeding woman.
