Have you heard of Ayurveda?

The original meaning of Ayurveda is “Life” “- Ayur” plus “Science of Knowledge” – “Veda” coming from a Sanskrit word, but in ancient books is known as “The Vedas.”

Ayurveda represents an ancient medicine and believed to be the oldest one in the world originated from India, and dates back over five millennia, in the Himalayas.

Its main goal is to coordinate and keep the balance of the mind, body, and spirit, thus leading to health, happiness, and prevention against illnesses.

In this article we shall focus on the dental health and oral hygiene and the different natural methods that this ancient medical system uses.

One of those methods is oil pulling which is a well-known Ayurvedic technique which can improve the dental and as well as the general health. This technique is based on swishing certain oil (like coconut, sesame, or turmeric oil) in the mouth for a few minutes a day. Not only your dental health will be boosted but as well as other body organs will experience its benefits, like the following ones:

  • Healthy teeth and gums
  • Better respiratory health
  • Improved joint health
  • Healthy sinuses
  • Healthy skin
  • Relaxed neck and jaw muscles
  • Detoxified body

When the dental health is concerned, the Ayurvedic technique will kill bacteria in the oral cavity, eliminate foul breath, remove tartar and plaque, and finally whiten the teeth. This technique involves the use of lipophilic oils, which have the ability to attract other oils and fat-soluble toxins from the body. For optimal results, use oils like coconut, sesame, or turmeric oil.

The Oil Swishing Method

Put 1 tablespoon of the oil in the mouth, and start swishing it in the mouth for 15-20 minutes, have in mind not to swallow it.  After some time the oil will become thinner and whitish. In the end spit it out, and after that rinse the teeth with warm water. After the treatment, brush the teeth as usual.

This technique will remove plaque, kill bacteria, and cleanse the body from toxins as everything comes from the mouth.

It is important not to swallow it as it is packed with the absorbed bacteria and toxins.

Use this technique every morning on an empty stomach, or before going to sleep. In just one week of use you will experience amazing effects!
